Geraldine Grace Payne, 74, of Seagraves died Wednesday, April 28, 2004, at the Brownfield Memorial Hospital. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 1, 2004, at the First Baptist Church in Seagraves with the Rev. Ronnie Hedges officiating. Interment will follow in the Gaines County Cemetery in Seagraves under the direction of Ratliff Funeral Home of Seagraves.

Mrs. Payne was born Nov. 24, 1929 in Terry County. She married C.F. Payne Sept. 9, 1950 in Seagraves. Mrs. Payne had been a resident of Seagraves since 1950 and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church in Brownfield.

Survivors include her husband, C.F. Payne of Seagraves; five daughters, Laquita Hornung of Eastland, Pam Hulsey and husband, Mike of Denton, Teresa Reece of Lubbock, Vicki Smith of Brownfield and Brenda Taylor and husband, Ricky, of Seagraves; a son, Clinton Payne of Brownfield; a brother, J.W. Freeman of Denver City; a sister, Bernice Crow of Snyder; 11 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 30, 2004, at Ratliff Funeral Home in Seagraves.
