Rites Saturday For Mrs. Sam Neely
Funeral rites for Mrs. Sam T. Neely, 64, who died Thursday midnight, were set here Saturday, Jan. 1 at 2:00 p.m., in the Methodist church, with Rev. W. A. Hitchock, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in the Hale Center cemetery. M. W. Lemons Funeral Home is in charge of the body.
Mrs. Neely was born Aug. 19, 1879 in Wis (sic) county. She moved here with her husband from Abernathy in 1930. For the last several months, while she and her husband have been in ill health, they divided their residence between here and Floydada, where they have relatives.
Besides the husband, four daughters and three sons survive. The girls are Mmes Bert House and Cecil Cain, Clovis, N.M., A. B. Snodgrass , Floydada, and Ralph Rudd, Hart; and the sons are Horace L. , Floydada, C. A. Mountainair, N. M., and T. T. of Hale Center. Three sisters surviving are Mmes Jno Coker, Hugo, Okla., Lucy Birdsong, Alameda, Calif., Houston Elkins, somewhere in Oklahoma.
Pallbearers named were Sam W. Smith, Geo Rawls, Frank Gibson, E. W. Patterson, W. L. Porter and Albert Padgett.
The American joins with others in Hale Center in expressing deepest sympathy to the members of the bereaved family.
