George W. Parker, X-Callahan Farmer, Dies.
George W. Parker, 61, Abilene resident for the past eight years, died at 5 p.m. Friday at his home 1225 Pecan St., after
a long illness. He moved to Abilene from Callahan county, where he farmed for many years. Mr. Parker has been in ill
health for several years and had been confined to his bed for the past five weeks. He was born in Walnut Springs on Dec.
15, 1891. Surviving are his wife; six daughters, Mrs. Fred Christofer of Baird, N.M., Mrs. R. V. Mauldin of Weatherford,
Joyce Parker of New York City, and Mrs. L. D. Kniffen, Mrs. L. O. Franklin, and Mrs. Ed O'Dell, all of Abilene; three
sons, Frank Parker of New York City, Lewis Parker of Salt Lake City, Utah, and George Parker, Jr. of Abilene; one sister,
Mrs. Edna Kelsey of Yuma, Ariz.; three brothers, Mart Parker of Abilene, and Jess Parker and D. F. Parker, both of Yuma, Ariz. Mr.
Parker was a member of the Church of Christ. Elliot's Funeral Home will announce funeral arrangements.

Funeral arrangements for George W. Parker, 61, Abilene resident for the past eight years, are pending arrival
of a son from Utah and will be announced by Elliot's Funeral Home. Mr. Parker died at 5 p.m. Friday at his home 1225 Pecan
St., after a long illness. He was born in Walnut Springs, Texas, Dec. 15, 1891. He moved to Abilene from Callahan county,
where he had farmed. Besides his wife, he is survived by six daughters, Mrs. Fred Christofer, Baird, N.M., Mrs.
R. V. Mauldin, Weatherford, Joyce Parker, New York City, and Mrs. L. D. Kniffen, Mrs. L. O. Franklin, and Mrs. Ed O'Dell,
all of Abilene; three sons, Frank Parker, New York City, Lewis Parker, Salt Lake City, Utah, and George Parker, Jr., Abilene;
a sister, Mrs. Edna Kelsey, Yuma, Ariz.; three brothers, Mart Parker, Abilene, and Jess and D. F. Parker, both of Yuma, Ariz. He
was a member of the Church of Christ.

Funeral for George W. Parker, 61, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, at Elliot's Chapel of Memories. Burial will follow
in Potosi Cemetery. Mr. Parker died at 5 p.m. Friday at his home 1225 Pecan St., after a long illness. He had been a
resident of Abilene for eight years, moving here from Callahan County, where he had farmed. He was born at Walnut Springs,
Texas, Dec. 15, 1891. He was a member of the Church of Christ. Pallbearers will be L. W. Parker, Earnest Parker, Laurice
Sargent, Frank Munseila, Harold Carlile, and John Beasley, all nephews.
