CHAMPAIGN - Jesse Dale Bennett, 73, of Champaign died at 7:32 a.m. Friday (Dec. 10, 2004) at ManorCare Health
Services of Champaign.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Owens Funeral Home, 101 N. Elm St., C. The Rev. Glenn H. Trost will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Hope Cemetery, Champaign.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mr. Bennett was born Feb. 26, 1931, in Champaign, a son of Alva L. and Lela Fulfer Bennett. He married Wilma J. Steibner
on Dec. 20, 1969, in Champaign. She survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Thomas Patrick Bennett and Timothy Michael Bennett, both of Oakwood; two daughters, Janet
Largent of Mahomet and Julie Davis of Dewey; two stepsons, Hobert "Butch" Roberts of Monticello and Jack Roberts of Bement;
two stepdaughters, Carol Meeker of Monticello and Linda Burgess of Eugene, Ore.; three sisters, Helen Willard of Dewey, Betty
Hemrich of Mahomet and Ruth McCartney of Urbana; a brother, James Bennett of Lafayette, Ind.; 10 grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren;
five great-grandchildren; and 11 step-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Mr. Bennett was an upholsterer at Bland's Upholstery for 28 years and at the University of Illinois furniture shop for
17 years.
He was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ, Champaign.
He enjoyed bowling, golf and woodcarving.
