GREENUP  Ivan K. Stanberry, 94, of rural Greenup, died at 2:35 p.m. Sunday (May 11, 2003) at Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center .Arrangements are incomplete at Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup.

GREENUP Ivan Kenneth Stanberry, age 94, of Rural Greenup, Illinois passed away at 2:35 p.m. on Sunday, May 11, 2003 at the Sarah Bush Lincoln Health Center in Mattoon. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 14, 2003 at the Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup with the Rev. Melvin Shaw and Rev. David Freeman officiating. Burial will be in the Harmony Cemetery, Rural Greenup, Illinois with full military rites to be conducted by the Cumberland County Veterans. Visitation will be held 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2003 at the Bishop Funeral Home in Greenup.
Ivan was born on January 18, 1909 in Diona, Illinois a son of Francis Marion and Geneva (Cutright) Stanberry. He married Helen Hill on February 5, 1937.
Ivan was a Farmer and World War II Army Veteran. He was a member of the Clear Creek Separate Baptist Church, the Greenup American Legion, the Casey Senior Club, the Disabled American Veterans and the Clear Creek Quartet. Ivan's love of singing and studying of the bible was apparent by the numerous Revivals he and Helen attended.
Ivan is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Helen Stanberry of Rural Greenup and a son, Albert "Harley" (wife Debbie) Stanberry of Rural Greenup; three granddaughters, Carol Floyd of Charleston, Shawna Melton of Arcola and Samantha Cain of Greenup; two great-grandchildren; a niece, Sue Gibbs of Springfield; a nephew, Jim Stanberry of Greenup; sister-in-law, Freda Stanberry of Greenup and two great-nieces and two great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant brother; sister, Lotty Cox and brothers, Willis and Fred Stanberry. In loving memory of Ivan memorials may be made to the Delaney Melton Liver Transplant Fund
