JAUNITA F. STAFFORD
JAUNITA F. STAFFORD, 83 of Los Alamos, died Tuesday, Nov. 2, 2004, following a long illness. She was born
in Ralls, Texas, March 6, 1921, the loving daughter of Fred Fulfer and Ola Hutto Fulfer. She married Lawrence Dud Stafford
in Matador, Texas, Nov. 3, 1939. She graduated from Matador high school. Jaunita moved to Los Alamos in 1946. She was
employed by First National Bank of Santa Fe and the Zia Co. In 1961 she and her husband moved to Las Cruces where they
worked at White Sands on the Apollo project. In 1972 they returned to Los Alamos where Jaunita worked for the Los Alamos Schools
until her retirement in 1984. She was a member of Bryce Avenue Presbyterian Church in White Rock. She was a long-time volunteer
with the Los Alamos hospital Auxiliary. She is survived by her son, Ron Stafford and wife Carolyn of Chama ; grandsons:
Darrin Stafford and wife Myra of Los Alamos, Darril Stafford and wife Christina of Los Alamos, Darrik Stafford and wife Emma
of Los Alamos, Kevin Stafford of Chicago, Scott Downing and wife Donna of Los Alamos and nine great-grandchildren. Memorial
contributions should be directed to the Los Alamos Hospital Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister
and spouse. A Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at Bryce Avenue Presbyterian Church in White Rock.
