Fairl Speight Commerce-Services for Commerce resident, Fairl James Speight will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Pemberton Funeral
chapel with burial in Sonora Cemetery, Fairlie. Rev. B. J. Ring and Bob Watson will officiate. He died Tuesday in Commerce
at the age of 88. Born in Hot Springs, Ark, on Dec. 24, 1904, he was the son of John and Ida Caudwell Speight. He married
Virgie Cunningham on June 9, 1956, in Durant, Okla. Mr. moved to Commerce from Arkansas in 1912. He was a farmer, lived
in the Fairlie community, and was a member of the Church of Christ. Surviving are his wife; one son, Raymond Speight of
Azle, Rogene Swinson, of Commerce; two sisters, Maedale Acker and Lizzie Acker, both of Commerce, 4 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Speight and one sister, Ellen Gentry. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 7 to 9 p.m today at the funeral home.
