JOSHUA - Roy E. Smith, 87, a general contractor in construction, died Wednesday at a Grandview nursing home.
Funeral: 2 p.m. today at Clayton Kay Funeral Home in Alvarado. Burial: Bethesda Cemetery in Burleson.
Roy Smith was born Jan. 16, 1909, in Dublin, Texas. He was a member of Briar Baptist Church and Masonic Lodge No. 1244 A.F. & A.M.
Survivors: Wife, Ruth D. Smith of Joshua; two sons, Louie Brown of Irving and John C. Smith of Fort Worth; four daughters, June Rouse of Gordon, Shirley Branam of Hurst and Nell Few and Donna Stevens, both of Fort Worth; three sisters, Ethel Noe of Burleson, Mattie Fay MacMurtrey of Fort Worth and Ann Reedy of Burleson; 26 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
