Auto Dealership Owner Dies
Services for former car dealership owner Dock H. Coffey,83, of 4219 W. Third, will be at 2 p.m. Monday in the
First Baptist Church with Dr. Winfred Moore,pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery by Schooler-Gordon Funeral
Directors.
Mr. Coffey died Friday.
Mr. Coffey, born in Roff,Okla., was former owner of Dock Coffey Pontiac and Doc Coffey Auto Sales. He moved
to Amarillo in 1942 from Pampa.
He retired from the car dealership business in 1980 after 38 1/2 years.
Mr. Coffey was a member of the Amarillo Kiwanis Club, where he had more than 40 years of perfect attendance.
He was also a member of Auto Dealers Association, Chamber of Commerce, Better Business Bureau and Amarillo Credit Association.
He was a deacon at First Baptist Church.
He married Euna May Hudson in 1920 at Roff.
He was proceeded in death by a daughter, Margie Bratton in 1982.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter Francis Dement of Amarillo; four brothers, Cleo of Dalhart, Arden and
Woodrow both of Ada, Okla; and Ike of Amarillo; and a sister, May Belle McKell of Midland.
The family requests memorials be to First Baptist Church Family Life Center.
