Isaac Phipps Dies at 100; Rites Are Set
One of Delaware Counties oldest residents, Isaac Newton Phipps, 100, 1203 S Shipley St., died at his home, Wednesday. Mr.
Phipps, who was born in Martin County on Nov. 13, 1857, leaves 152 decendants, including seven children, 24 grandchildren,
84 great-grandchildren, and 37 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Glad
Tiding Church with the Rev. John T. Conaway officiating. Burial will be in Elm Ridge Cemetery. Mr. Phipps and his family
had moved to Muncie in 1913. Prior to that, for 10 years, they had lived in Yorktown. His wife died in 1943. He was a
former farmer and a former employee of the Republic Iron and Steel Co.. Children surviving him are three sons, Guy Phipps
of Muncie, William Phipps of Elnora, and Noah Phipps of Jasonville, and four daughters, Miss Effie Phipps of Muncie, Mrs Carrie
Bundy of Muncie, Mrs Anna Hollowell of Indianapolis, and Mrs. Emily Southworth of Dunkirk. Friends may call at the Parson
