James W. Phipps
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today in  Herns Bros. Mortuary, Calexico, for James W. Phipps, 77 who died Tuesday in his Calexico residence.
A funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.  Members of the Imperial Masonic Lodge No. 390 in Imperial will officiate.  Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery in El Centro.
Born Jan. 5, 1915, in Glen Rose, Texas. Mr. Phipps lived in Imperial County for 55 years.  He was a self-employed farmer for 40 years.
Survivors include his wife, De of Calexico; daugher Geneva Wooten of Oakton, VA; son Don Phipps of Cleburne, Texas; brothers Alvin and James Reynolds of Texas; sisters Lorene Trimble and Dossie Dahn, both of Texas; four grandchilden, seven great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
