Zettie Parker
Zettie Parker, 88, charter member of First Pentecostal Church, died Tuesday in a local hospital. Services will
be at 3:30 p.m. Friday in Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 549 Hickory, with the revs. Bernie Summers and Joe
Cosby officiating. Burial will be in Potosi Cemetery. Mrs. Parker was born in De Leon and attended school in Ocens,
Okla. She moved to Abilene in 1923 from Willow, Okla., and she and her husband helped start the Potosi Cemetery.
She was active in Rose Park Senior Citizens and was a volunteer with Meals on Wheels. She was the widow of Mart
Parker, whom she married in 1923 in Willow, Okla. Survivors include two sons; Lloyde W. Parker of Pflugerville (Travis)
and Leon Parker of Arlington(Tarrant); three daughters; Nell Bradshaw and Nancy Sanford; both of Abilene and Hazel Vrabel
of Pflugerville; 19 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6-7 p.m. today in the funeral home.
