Monty Fulfer Newberry, 57, of Clyde, died Sunday, May 20, 2001. Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Elliott-Hamil Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 542 Hickory St., burial in Elliott-Hamil Garden of Memories. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mozell Vera Dyess Newberry
Mozell Vera Dyess Newberry, 89, died Monday in a local nursing home.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday in Sears Methodist Center Chapel with the Rev. Sue Rowlett officiating. Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Monday in Memorial Park Cemetery in Enid, Okla. with the Rev. Lucinda Holmes officiating, directed by North's Funeral Home, 242 Orange.
Mrs. Newberry was born in Grand Saline and grew up in Fluvanna. She was a homemaker. She moved to Amarillo in 1932, Enid, Okla. in 1942 and Abilene in 1992. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Enid, Okla., and was the widow of Carl M. Newberry.
Survivors include one daughter, Darla McBroom of Lazbuddie; one son, M.R. "Newt" Newberry of Abilene; two sisters, Jewell Pinkerton of Snyder and Nannie L. Combs of Sweetwater; three brothers, Delma J. Dyess of Spur, Jimmie C. Dyess of Snyder and Lonnie V. Dyess of Grand Junction, Colo.; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be sent to Windcrest Alzheimers Care Center, 6050 Hospital Drive, Abilene 79606; Troy McBroom Scholarship Fund, Box 187, Lazbuddie 79053; or a favorite charity.
The family will be at 926 Elmwood.
