Douglas Grover Moist (March 23, 1916-December 11, 1985)
Daily News, Longview, Washington Thursday, December 12, 1985
Douglas G. Moist Douglas G. Moist, of 407 Diane St. in Castle Rock, died Dec. 11, 1985 at home. He was 69. Mr.
Moist was born March 23, 1916 in Nebraska. He had been a welder and during World War II worked at Boeing and Cessna Aircraft
Corp. in Wichita, Kan. He was a member of the Methodist Church. His family had lived in this area since 1982, coming from
Winlock. Mr. Moist is survived by his wife Betty, at home; four daughters, Pamela McDonald of Longview, Sharon Huffard
of Orlando, Fla., Sandy Gow of Bolder, Colo. And Patty Beckleman of San Diego; two brothers, Gerald Moist of Centralia and
Wayne Moist of Ovid, Colo., and five grandsons. At the request of the deceased, there will be no services held. Cremation
has taken place. Hubbard Funeral Home of Castle Rock was in charge of arrangements. Note: I did some checking and there
is no burial in Cowlitz County. I called the funeral home and they have no record of what happened to the ashes. The cremation
took place out o the area (maybe Portland, Or.) and it looks as if they were sent not to the funeral home but somewhere else.
Winlock is just up the highway from here and Centralia, where the one brother lived, is just on the other side of Winlock
- so he may be buried up there somewhere. I hope this helps you.
