Joel B. McCurdy

Died Tuesday, November 26, 2002. Predeceased by parents, Ezella and Trall McCurdy; sister, Terrell Aldrich; and first wife, Dorothy McConnell McCurdy, Survived by wife, Jean Herndon McCurdy; daughter, Cathy Nell McCurdy; sister, Franelle McCurdy Wood; and many nieces and nephews. Mr McCurdy was a graduate of MTSU and Peabody College. He served in the U.S. Air Corps during World War II. He had been an educator in the Nashville Public Schools for 31 years, serving as a classroom teacher and principal. He was a member of Crievewood United Methodist Church. A private graveside service will be conducted Friday, November 29, 2002 at Woodlawn Memorial Park, conducted by Rev. David McIntyre. A memorial service conducted by Rev. David McIntyre and Mrs. Brenda Geise, Director of Christian Education, will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, December 7, 2002 at Crievewood United Methodist Church, 451 Hogan Rd., Nashville, TN 37220. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be made to Crievewood UMC, Alive Hospice, 1718 Patterson St., Nashville, TN 37203, or to a charity of one's choice.
