The Daily (Commerce) Journal
Aug 16, 1933
On Monday, August 7th, the Death Angel visited into the home of Bill Teague and claimed as it's victim his mother,
Mrs. Catherine Clayton. She was loved by all who knew her and numbered her friends by her acquaintances and always met them
with a smile and was known to her friends as "Aunt Ketty".
She was a sweet and loving mother and =friend. We can't understand why God took this sweet soul away but he
knows best.
She was born July 28th, 1856 in the Black Cat Thicket, ten miles west of Commerce and was a member of the First
Christian Church at South Sulphur, having joined when a girl, in 1877. She was married to Jim Teague and six children were
born to this union. Then later she was married to J--- Clayton who proceeded her in death some fourteen years ago, and after
his death she has made her home with her son at Horton.
Aunt Ketty is survived by her son, Bill Teague, one brother, John Fulfer of South Sulphur, a twin sister, Margurett
Miller of Black Cat Thicket and a grandson, Melvin Teague of Horton and a number of relatives and friends to mourn her departure.
She was laid to rest in the South Sulphur Cemetery beneath a mound of flowers.
