ARMINGTON -- George Denzel Hayes, 73, died at 1:05 a.m. Wednesday Nov. 11, 1981 in Hopedale Medical Complex.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday in McReynolds Funeral Home, Minier.  Rev. Harold Williamson will officiate.  Interment will be in Oak View Cemetery.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 Friday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Armington Christian Church of which he was a member.
A son of A. Ross and Hazel DeLong Hayes, he was born Jan. 10, 1908 in Armington.
He is survived by a sister, Mrs. Helen Dean McGraw, Rt. 13, Bloomington.
One sister preceded him in death.
Mr. Hayes, a life-long Armington resident, was a retired rural mail carrier.
 He was a member of Armington American Legion, a graduate of Blackburn College at Carlinville and a World War II Army Air Force veteran
