Arthur Man Dies After Long Illness
Arthur May 7--John Hankins, a son of Mr. and Mrs. James Hankins died at his home in Arthur, Thursday morning at 1 o'clock
of apoplexy. He had been an invalid for sixteen years most of that time being confined to a wheel chair. The funeral
was held at the Baptist church Friday afternoonat 2 o'clock, conducted by Rev. Mr. Waggoner, the pastor. Burial was
in the Arthur Cemetery. He was born in Moultrie Co., Nov. 10, 1888 and had lived in and near Arthur, Ill., all of his
life. He leaves a father, mother, and one sister, Mrs. Troy Buxton, of Sullivan, and a host of friends among whom are many
boys and girls , who delighted in bringing sunshine into his life.
