Services for H. C. (Sam) Wylie, 82, of 416 West Alston will be at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Griffin Funeral Home Chapel
with the Rev. Wayne Horton, minister of Taylor Street Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow in Prairie Haven
Cemetery. Wylie died in his sleep yesterday morning in his home. He was born May 22, 1898 in Texas and had made his
home in Hobbs for the past 44 years. He was active in the Senior Citizens in Hobbs and played in the Singing Swinging Senior
Orchestra. He had been employed in the oilfields. He is survived by his wife, Lahoma, one son, Andrew Wylie of Odessa;
three stepsons, Carrol Trotter of Odessa, Kenneth Trotter of Hobbs, and Charles Trotter of Artesia; one daughter, Mary Lee
Stevens of Canadian, Texas; two stepdaughters, Mrs. Starlie Bryant and Mrs. Karen Teague, both of Hobbs; four brothers, P.D.
Wylie and Dick Wylie, both of Mingus, Texas, Kelsey Wylie of Gordon, Texas and Kage Wylie, of Stephenville, Texas; one sister,
Mrs. Elizabeth Cates of Stephenville; eight grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 12 step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren.
