Dorothy Jean Terry, 64, of Caldwell, died early Friday morning, March 13, in a Temple Hospital. Mrs. Terry was born
January 19, 1928, in Rockdale. She was the daughter of late Archie Carl and Ludie Grace Hillin Skinner. She attended
the Rockdale schools and graduated from Rockdale High in 1945. On October 6, 1946, she married John Beve Terry in Caldwell.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Caldwell. Over the years, she was a bookkeeper for the Lone Star Gas
Company and the Ford Motor Company in Caldwell. She was also employed at the Burleson County Tax Assessor office.
Her hobbies included craft work, flowers, plants, cooking, baking, sewing and quilting. She was very devoted to her
family and especially to her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, John B Terry on July 7, 1990, and
her parents in earlier years. Survivors include one daughter, Beverly L. Terry of Austin; tow sons, John (Buddy) and wife
Lottie Terry of Bryan, Charles W. and wife Donna Terry of Austin; one sister, Peggy and her husband Joe Wright; one brother
Wayne Skinner; all of Rockdale and three grandsons, Christopher, Bradley and John Terry. Funeral services were held at
3 p.m., Sunday, March 15, at Strickland Funeral Home in Caldwell with Reverend Phil Lovelace officiating. Interment followed
in the Masonic Cemetery in Caldwell. Active pallbearers were frank Bryan, L. L. Davis, Floyd Lina, Odell Tharp, Bob Towslee
and Joe Rychilk. Honorary pallbearers were William Calvin , William Groce, Herbert Heldmann, Alton Peters, G. W. Sanders,
Val Stephens and Skelly Strong.
