Lou Barger, 100, of Greenup dies GREENUP - Lou Avis Barger, 100, of Greenup went to be with the Lord at 5:20 a.m. Tuesday
(Nov. 30, 2004) in Cumberland Nursing Center, Greenup. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in Barkley Funeral Chapel, Greenup.
Visitation will be two hours before services. Burial will be in Harmony Cemetery, Greenup. Memorials: Cumberland Nursing Center.
Avis was born June 23, 1904, the daughter of Dayton and Rebecca McCollough. She retired as a caseworker with Illinois
Department of Public Aid after 20 years of service. She married Francis G. Barger on Sept. 16, 1924. Surviving are her
daughters, Barbara Frances (Max) Shull and Patricia J. (Bud) Mitchell, both of Greenup; grandchildren, Mike (Linda) Shull,
Jeff (Karen) Mitchell, Debbie (Pat) Kuhn and Priscilla (Mike) Schrock, all of Greenup; grandson-in-law, Bill Brown of Greenup;
12 great-grandchildren; 21 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; daughter, Barbara Jean;
five sisters; and granddaughter, Rebecca Jane Brown on Nov. 25, 2004.
