John Wesley McAllister, 98, retired tanner and former Hamilton County deputy sheriff died Friday morning at
his home on Chattanooga Route 5.
Mr. McAllister was employed a number of years by the U. S. Leather Co. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Nettie Sullivan McAllister, two daughters, Mrs. Claude A. Hill and Mrs. Clara
Mae Parker, Chattanooga; son, Frank McAllister, Chattanooga; thirteen grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at the Concord Baptist Church Sunday at 3:30 p.m., the Revs. M. Dale Larew and G. W.
Splawn officiating.
Burial will be in the Concord Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons, Glenn McAllister, Frank McAllister, Don
McAllister, Robert McAllister, Richard McAllister and Claude Parker.
