Funeral Services Held Here For Saturday Thomas Fulfer
Funeral services were held in the First Methodist Church for Thomas Fulfer Saturday afternoon 2:00 o'clock,
with Rev. J. E. Osborn conducting the services.
He was assisted by L. W. Shaw, Pentacostal Pastor of Cleburne. Rev. Shaw led in prayer and gave a brief tribute
to Mr. Fulfer, who was a member of his church; Rev. Virgil Pace, a lifelong friend, read some scriptures about the resurrection,
and made some fitting remarks; and by Rev. Ernest Copeland, Pentacostal Pastor at Walnut Springs for many years where Mr.
Fulfer attended church while living in this section. Rev. Osborn talk in glowing terms of the life of this man, who was converted
under Rev. Osborn 37 years ago. The choir sang one song, and several other songs were sung by Mr. and Mrs. Audrey Brazeal.
Mr. Fulfer, who passed away Thursday morning, Nov. 1, at 11:00 o'clock, was born Sept 7, 1854, and was the son
of Zack and Mary Teague Fulfer. Thus he was 87 years, one month and 23 days of age when he passed. He was married to Mary
Ellen Cheek in Glen Rose January 5, 1890, and they were the parents of 12 children. Mr. Fulfer had been a member of the Pentacostal
Church since 1912, and lived a devoted christian life, and was esteemed by all who knew him. He was a farmer, and had lived
many years in the Rock Creek section.
After the death of his first wife he was married to Mrs. Forsythe, who survives him; also he is survived by
10 children by his first marriage; Clark Fulfer, Crosbyton' Col of Glen Rose; Alec Fulfer, Houston; Seth Fulfer, Mrs. Autie
Forsythe, Mrs. Mae Reynolds, Mrs. Lily Muse, Mrs. Annie Gent, of Cleburne; Mrs. Mary Dishman, Crowell; 40 grandchildren, and
48 great-grandchildren.
