'Hugo, OK - Miriam Fulfer of Hugo went to be with her Lord Saturday, July 12, 1997, [at St. Joseph's Hospital
and Health Center in Paris, TX] at the age of 72 years, after an eight-year struggle with cancer. Service will be at 10 a.m.
Tuesday, July 15, at First Assembly of God Church in Hugo with burial in Mt. Olivet Cemetery by Miller and Miller Funeral
Home. The Rev. Jerry Cooper & the Rev. Mike Fortenberry will officiate. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m.
Monday at the funeral home. She was born Oct. 11, 1924, in Bennington, OK, to Edd Knight and Ola Wiggley Knight and lived
in Powderly before moving to Hugo 11 years ago. She was a retired teacher having taught the sixth grade at Powderly, Paris
and Hugo. She was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Hugo, Texas State Teachers Association, and the Gideon Auxiliary,
Hugo/Antlers Camp. She was the loving wife of Sherman Fulfer, whom she married Feb. 5, 1971, and the loving mother of a son,
Jim Burke and his wife Irene, of Paris; and a daughter Jinx Burke Voder and her husband, Lyle, also of Paris; other survivors
are her mother, Nola Knight of Hugo; two brothers, Charles Knight of Hugo and E.J. Knight of Dallas; a sister, Elizabeth Lane
of Hugo; and a granddaughter, Corbi Yoder. Memorials may be made to the Gideon Memorial Bible Fund.'
