Commerce-Funeral services for Bythia L. Abbott, 77, of White Settlement, will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Jones Memorial Chapel. Burial will be in Horton Cemetery.

Rev. James Osborne and Rev. Lyndon Petty will officiate.

Mrs. Abbott died Monday. The daughter of Daniel J. and Willie M. Clayton Smith, she was born Aug. 14, 1916 in Delta County. She was an active volunteer for the White Settlement Senior Citizen Center and member of Tower Baptist Church.

Surviving are three sons, Glynn Abbott, Jackie Abbott and Jerry Abbott, all of White Settlement; two daughters, Pat Brothers of White Settlement and Brenda Midkiff of Millsap; two sisters, Fronia Roberts of and Sue Hodges, both of Longview(Gregg Co., TX); nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Abbott; and granddaughter, Edna Midcliff.
