Sudden Death Jerry Fulfer
Jerry Stevensun Fulfer, aged 72, was found dead at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Jess Coppinger, half way between
here and Victoria Saturday night. Mr. Fulfer who lived with his daughter, had eaten supper and seemed to be all right. He
went to his chair on the porch and sat before retiring. Leaving him after he had retired Mr. and Mrs. Coppinger and children
went to Jasper. When they returned Mr. Fulfer had gotten up out of bed and was out in a chair on the porch, which was not
unusual for him to do. Mr. Coppinger seeing him sitting there when the car light flashed upon him, blew the car horn which
failed to rouse him, he then hollowed at him with still no response. He said to his wife " There is something wrong." Upon
investigation he found him dead.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Joe Donahue, Sequatchie, and Mrs. Jess Coppinger of R. 2 Whitewell, several
nieces and nephews and six grandchildren.
Funeral Services were conducted at the Sardis Methodist church with the pastor Rev. J. F. Payne and Rev. Joe
Coston officiating.
Burial in Sardis Cemetery.
