Henry Boevers

Services for Henry George Boevers, 73, of Piedmont were held Jan. 12 at the Yanda Funeral Home Chapel in Yukon. Burial was in the Union City Cemetery.

Boevers was born Nov. 20, 1914, in Union City and died Jan. 9 at his Piedmont home.

He was a retired bus driver with the Greyhound Bus Line and a member of the senior citizens group.

Survivors include his wife, Sally Lorene, of the home; one son, Henry P. and wife, Phyllis of Piedmont; three sisters, Anna Biswell of Wagoner, Francis Tillman of Tulsa and Hieda Ogle of Choctaw; one brother, Eugene of Sallisaw; a nephew, Mike Boevers of Oklahoma City and a number of other nieces and nephews.

Boevers was a much-loved member of the Piedmont School System and was known as Mr. Cottonpicker.

In lieu of flowers the family is asking that donations be made to the Heart Foundation.

He was preceded in death by one brother, Richard of Oklahoma City.
