EARTH - Services for Gene Brownd, 81, of Earth will be at 2 p.m. today at Earth United Methodist Church with the
Revs. Bobby Broyles and Gary Hubbard officiating. Burial will be in Earth Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Parsons-Ellis
Funeral Home of Earth. He died Wednesday, July 11, 2001. He was born June 11, 1920, in Comanche and married
Dorthaphine Fulfer on Sept. 2, 1939, in Hale Center. He moved to Earthin 1951 from Hale Center and was a master sergeant during
World War II, serving in the European Theatre and working with the 120th Evacuation Hospital. He was a member of the Littlefield
Masonic Lodge, where he was a 32nd degree Mason and received his 50-year pin in 1996. He was a Shriner, a member of Veterans
of Foreign Wars and American Legion in Littlefield. He was a past member of the Earth Lions Club and the Earth Chamber of
Commerce. He was a farmer and a past board member of Citizens State Bank of Earth, and had owned Brownd Implement Co. in Earth
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dickie of Earth a daughter, Kathie Shirey of Earth three sisters, Hollie Cheevers of
Dumas, Patsy Greenwood of Cordell, Okla., and Barbara Burnett of Cotton Center; and six grandchildren. The family suggests
memorials to Earth Memorial Cemetery, P.O. Box 523, Earth TX 79031, Earth EMS or to the Fire Department.
