TRUCK DRIVER KILLED IN CRASH OF RIGS ON I-5
Three Rocks--An Oregon truck driver was killed early Thursday when he apparently fell asleep and his truck-trailer
rig crashed into the rear of anohter truck-trailer rig on Interstate 5 just south of th ewestern Fresno County community of
Three Rocks.
The victim was indentifed as Bobby Lynn Fulfer, 27, Salem.
According to the California Highway Patrol, Fulfer was southbound on I-5 about one mile north of Derrick Boulevard
(Highway 33) when the accident happended about 5:30 a.m.
Officers said Fulfer was hauling a load of lumber when his righ hit the rear of the other rig, which was being
driven by Richard Carl Gee, 43, of Buttonwillow. Officers said Gee's truck was pulling an empty trailer.
Gee and a passenger in Fulfer's truck, Mark Largent, 18, also of Salem, escaped with minor injuries. Officers
said Largent had been asleep in the truck's sleeper compartment.
