Samuel Lybarger
Chowchilla- Funeral services will be Thursday at 10 a.m. at the Worden
Funeral Chapel for Samuel Lybarger, 60, who died Tuesday at Chowchilla
Community Hospital following a short illness.
A native of Texas, Mr. Lybarger grew up and received his schooling there.
Following his marriage to Gertrude Hixon in 1928, he went into farming and
subsequently moved to Chowchilla in 1947, continuing his farming there. Mr.
Lybarger, for the past 16 years, has worked at the Jim Bassington ranch.
Surviving are his widow Gertrude of Chowchilla, four brothers, Jim, Carl,
and Leo of Chowchilla and R. L. Lybarger of Sacramento, two sisters , Mr.
Lela Katchum of Sacramento and Mrs. Artie Woodall of Texas, a son J. W.
Lybarger of Firebaugh, two daughters, Mrs. Lela Barton of Monterey and Mrs.
Glenda Block of Virginia and five grandchildren.
Interment will be in the Chowchilla District Cemetery.
