Charles Edward James, Sr., 70, of Chattanooga, died Tuesday in a local nursing home. A native of Palmer, Tenn, he was a Navy veteran of World War II.

Survivors include two daughters; Nina Gonzales, Paula James, Dalton, Ga.; two sons, Charles E. James Jr., Knoxville, David A. James, Dalton; two grandchildren.

Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel. Burial will be in National Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. today at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home.
