Services for Jewel F. Holbrook of Midland are set for 2 p.m Tuesday in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sweetwater.
Local arrangements are being handled by Ellis Funeral Home.
Mrs. Holbrook died Saturday night in a local hospital.
She was born Jan 15, 1905, in Thurber. She lived her early life in Goree and Mineral Wells. At age 11, following
the death of her mother, she and her two sisters went to live in the Methodist Home in Waco. She trained in Waco, to become
a registered X-ray technician.
She married J. D. Holbrook on May 18, 1929 in Wichita Falls. They moved to Sweetwater in 1939 where her husband
was a district manager for Lone Star Gas.
He preceded her in death in 1974.
Mrs. Holbrook had been a resident of Midland since 199 and was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church.
Survivors include; one son, Frank A. Holbrook of Killeen; one daughter, Patsy Gardner of Midland; one sister,
Sylvia Simon of California; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren
