Services today for former isle Police Chief Henson.
Galveston--Services for Oscar E. "Gene" Henson, 56, former island police chief, will be 2 p.m. today at J. Levy
& Bro. Funeral Home in Galveston, the Revs. Denton Bassett and George Ramsey officiating.
Burial will be at Galveston Memorial Park in Hitchcock.
Mr. Henson died Sunday at his residence.
He was born Aug. 31, 1926, in Rosebud, Texas, and had lived in Galveston for 36 years. Mr. Henson was a member
of the Methodist Church of Rosebud and Boilermakers Local 132.
Survivors include his wife, Edna E. Henson of Galveston; a daughter, Sharon Ratisseau of Clear Lake City; three
sons, Michael E. Henson, Patrick G. Henson and Gary Henson, all of Galveston; four grandchildren; and his mother, Willie Mae
Woodruff of Galveston.
Pallbearers will be Henry Wright, D. R. Adams, Jesse Trevino; Joe Matthews, Dutch Parsons, Dale Turner and Don
Michaels. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Robert Peake, Dr. Sally Abston, Judge Andrew Baker and members of Boilermakers
Local 132.
