Funeral services for Mrs.Isa Dora Hairston (formerly Mrs. John W. Holliday) were held at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the Phillips & Luckey Chapel

with burial in Oak Lawn Cemetery.

 

Rev. Ronnie Littlejohn officiated.

 

Mrs. Hairston died at 10:40 p.m. Monday in Johns Community Hospital, Taylor, after a brief illness. She was a lifelong resident of Rockdale and Milam County area.

 

She was born Aug. 26, 1900 in Milam County to Mr. and Mrs. John (Maude Driggers) Riley.

 

She and John W. Holliday were married in 1919 in Thrall. She was preceded in death by her first husband in 1954. Mrs. Holliday and Jack

Hairston were married in 1962 in Rockdale.

 

She was also preceded in death by her second husband, Jack Hairston, earlier this year and a daughter, Margaret Toellner, in 1978.

 

Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Hycinth Owen of Rockdale; also seven grandchildren, Nancy Burd of Florence, Debra Owen of Round Rock,

Bonnie Steele of Rockdale, Becky Brown of Rockdale, Ann Toellner of Waco, John Owen of Rockdale and Bobby Toellner of Austin; also seven great grandchildren.

 

Pall bearers were Mike Burd, Eddie Brown, Joe Burd, Jerry Steele, John Owen and Elmer Atkins.

 

Mrs. Hairston was a member of First Baptist Church.

Phillips & Luckey Funeral Home of Rockdale was in charge of arrangements.
