Mrs. Dorothy L. Allen, 74, of RR1. Chatham, formerly of Springfield, died at 1:25 p.m. Saturday at Memorial Hospital.

Born in 1898 in Mattoon the daughter of Robert and Nora Fulfer Howard, she married in 1920 Tuscola.

She is survived by her husband, Archie S.; two daughters, Mrs. Elaine Bartels of Laurel, Md., Miss Martha M. Allen of Chicago; mohter , Mrs. Nora Howard of Mattoon; three grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Lucille Krusz of Winter Park, Fla., Miss Roberta Howard of Matton, Mrs. Helen Ripley of Indianapolis, Ind.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Southwick Funeral Home at Chatham with Rev. Jerry White officiating. Burial will be in Elkhart Cemetery.
