Graveside services were held for Joseph Ruel Dorris, 63, Wednesday morning a the Exray Cemetery under the direction
of the Trewitt Funeral Home.
Dorris, died in his home in Irann following a heart attack Monday. Funeral services were held Tuesday morning
in the First Baptist Church, Irann, and the body was brought overland to Stephenville where the body lay in state at the Trewitt
chapel until the hour of interment.
He was born a native of Erath county. Born here June 24, 1888, he was married to the former Mrs. Margaret Ellen
Davis on August 31, 1906 in the Exray Community. Before going to Irann in 1935, the former Erathian lived in Thurber. In Iraan
he was an employee of the T&P Coal & Oil Co.,
Surviving are the widow; tow sons, A. D. (Chick) Dorris of Iraan and Maurice Dorris of Ft. Worth; two daughters,
Mrs. Frank Perry, Jr. of Iraan, and Mrs. Walter Dudley of Sheffield;;Sisters, Mrs. Della Yoder and Mrs. Hazel Caber of Los
Angelos, Calif., and Mrs. M. E. Sirratt of Torrance, Calif., and two grandchildren.
